Frequently Asked Questions

Please find answers below to questions on counseling services with Dr. Christine Holmes.

How do I get started with services?

To learn more about Hand in Hand Caregiver Counseling, you may schedule a free, 20-minute phone consultation here (link embedded to schedule a consultation). I will schedule a meeting with you to understand what you're going through and answer questions for us to determine whether my services may meet your needs. After the initial consultation, I will email you an outline of our discussion, along with my recommendations.

Do you accept health insurance for services?

All services, i.e., intake appointment and subsequent sessions, are provided fee-for-service, which is billed at the end of each session. Please contact your insurance carrier before initiating services to determine if they provide out of network reimbursement for mental health care.

For your privacy and service flexibility, you are billed directly for each session and may choose to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. Please note that I am not an in-network provider with any health insurance companies. If you plan to use insurance reimbursement, please check with your insurance company to clarify your benefits for "out-of-network" mental health care before initiating counseling.

How long will services last?

Counseling services are delivered using evidence-based methods to best utilize our time and work together. Factors, such as the level of service engagement and the needs of your case, will affect the duration of care. Meeting at least once per week in the beginning of services and meeting consistently are highly recommended, as these aspects will also have an impact on the efficacy and length of services.

Can we meet in person?

As a global private practice, all services are delivered over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This provides the flexibility to meet at your convenience amidst your own busy schedule from a private location of your choice.
